Saturday, September 24, 1-3 pm, Mixed Media Canvas using Faber Castell. Create this multi-layered Sunflower canvas project using Faber Castell mixed media color kit (YELLOW included in the class). Bring your favorite gel medium or mod podge and foam brushes. I will walk you through a coloring process using watercolor pencils, gelatos, india ink big brush pen, metallics and pastel pencils. $29

I used all new Prima Flowers, and the NEW GLUBERS to create the fabric rosette in the middle.

What's a GLUBER you ask? It is a big honkin' GLUE DOT. Perfect for making fabric and/or paper flowers in a snap. Super fun watering can project made easy with PRIMAS and GLUBERS.

Perfect day to create something Springy, wouldn't you say...considering it's been a day full of tornado warnings and storms here in Maryland.

NEW! Advanced Copic Class @ PhotoScraps

Copic 104: Properties of Light and Shadow

Thurs. March 31st, 6-8 pm

In this advanced class, you will learn how to color more realistically. We will spend the entire class working through and planning your light source. Prepare to be challenged as we discuss and practice how to get beyond the diffused world of coloring and learn the properties of light and shadow.

You will be guided through the creation of a “light study” using a linear light source (the sun) and color a Sunflower illustration with highlight and shadow. Linear (sun), radial (candle) and single point (spotlight) clear guides will be provided in class as a tool for the “light study.” In class we will color using the linear guide.

Students must bring their own markers. Markers will not be provided. A shadow color chart will be posted to the PhotoScraps website. See suggested colors in the flyer below.

Please be sure to bring colors that can be used as highlight, midtone and shadow. We will be breaking the “natural blending family” rule when selecting color.

NEW. NEW. NEW. at PhotoScraps

Well.. I've got some LOVEY DOVEY goodness to share with you today. This months design team at PhotoScraps is centered around Valentines. So, I could NOT help myself by snatching up the entire paper pack of Echo Park's New BE MINE line.

Well, it all started like this... I had this BOX that was hanging around and I just couldn't throw it out. It was TOO good of a box. So... I decided to break it down, cut it up and make use of it as the base for my mini album... How's that for recycling?

So, with and empty canvas in hand (box parts), I started to pull together the new Echo Park paper and bits and baubles and whip up a lovey dovey album. Here's the cover below.


Here's a shot of the pinwheel flower detail. There's a wee little bit of the NEW Bo Bunny CRUSH line of papers in there. Some NEW Unity Stamps designed to go with the ECHO PARK Be Mine line, A cute little Maya Road rose button AND New HERO arts (my new FAVORITE flower stamp, called Flower CORSAGE) Watch for two upcoming card classes using this very delightful stamp!


Here's what the cover page looks like after you flip the pinwheel flower page. Yep, that's a pic of me and the hubs, circa 1998 the day we got married. I'm going to fill this book up with some pics of JUST US, through the years. And...hide a little journaling in a pocket called "The Story of Us." A little something I wrote about us awhile back. Awwwww! :) One thing I noticed about this pic...we look well rested. HA! Not so much anymore...

New Canvas Project

Shabby Chic Products and a NEW Canvas Project.

LOVE. LOVE. LOVING the NEW PRODUCTS from Maya Road and Melissa Frances that are being featured this month at PhotoScraps. Lot's of super shabby chic fun stuff to work with. And.... lots of KRAFT products to create with. You all KNOW I love my KRAFT. This canvas is on display at PhotoScraps throughout the month of December.

This month's products inspired me to create a collage CANVAS project. Here's a pic of the whole canvas. Keeps scrolling. I took pics of all the details.


Look at all the lovely details.

The small white vintage Melissa Frances frames created a perfect home for the ATC (ART C) red beads. The KRAFT Keepsake pocket is NEW from Maya Road. The vintage inspired heart pins are NEW from Maya Road as well. Gorgeous and fun to work with. The vintage lace is from Hero Arts and the LOVE and STORY ticket embellishments are from the one and only Tim Holtz.


I sprayed the NEW Maya Road chipboard pennants with Glimmer Mist and wired them up with silver (ATC-ART C) wire and beads. PERFECTION. The Maya Road chipboard hearts come in the package of mini pennants and are all blinged out with glitter and silver paint finished off with glossy accents. Look at that super cute resin pink rose. They're NEW from Maya Road.

Have you seen the new Melissa Frances Crepe paper and Mica Flakes? Just gorgeous to work with. I die cut the flower shapes with the Tim Holtz Tattered Flowers die and finished it off with a red rosette from Maya Road. The mica flakes give your project a sparkly, vintage touch, easy to apply and adhere with glossy accents. There are those super cute pink resin roses again!

Did you know you can emboss with the Ranger Paint Daubers? I took the silver paint dauber, covered the outer edges of the canvas, poured on UTEE embossing powder and heat set. The perfect finish to the outer edge of the canvas and super shiny.


The base of the canvas with photo was printed from my color printer on a piece of white copy paper. Using several digital kits and photoshop, I layered it up, printed it out and adhered it to the canvas using gel matte medium (mod podge works too), covering both sides and sealing the paper to the canvas. True blue collage style. All of the embellishments were layered on top. How fun is this? Didn't take long and definitely a keepsake. The picture was kind of blurry when I took it, but who cares, it looks amazing on this canvas. A vintagey chic hybrid project that you definitely get your hands messy with.

Christmas Canvas Art Class at PhotoScraps
Thurs., December 16, 6-8 pm
We're getting our ART on in this class. Fast-paced for completion, but you can finish it in two hours! Using a Brand NEW Bo Bunny Christmas canvas kit (and some extra goodies), we're going to jack it up and distress it out with ink, paint, stamps, glitter, bling and collage glue! This class is messy, but fun!

Only 6 spots available! BRING your favorite collage glue like: MOD PODGE (I prefer matte gel medium) and a very strong adhesive to adhered chipboard and bling.
